Jung Hoo Lee
2025 Player Outlook
Lee's stateside debut was cut short after just 158 plate appearences when he dislocated his shoulder slamming into the center field wall. In his brief debut, Lee flashed elite contact skills, but the power and plate discipline he displayed in the KBO did not translate to MLB. He was not afforded the opportunity to make adjustments due to the injury, and he is still just 26 years old, so there is chance he is able to improve on either or both of those to become a more complete hitter.

Jung Ho Lee went 3-for-4 and scored a run in a win over the Brewers on Wednesday.
Jung Hoo Lee went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBI in the Giants’ 11-4 win over the Phillies on Wednesday.
Lee opened the scoring off Aaron Nola with a single in the first inning and then put the final run on Nola’s ledger with his sacrifice fly in the sixth. He’s been red-hot to start the season with eight extra-base hits in his last seven games and at least one hit in 12 of his 15 games overall. That’s helped to dampen some concerns about his power potential and he could be in for a very productive year while hitting between Willy Adames and Matt Chapman every day.
Jung Hoo Lee went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI in a win over the Yankees on Sunday.
We knew that Lee was a pretty solid player despite his injury-shortened 2024 season, but the power he’s put on display recently has been a surprise. The 26-year-old laced a 406-foot home run at 103.2 mph off the bat in the fourth inning and then followed that up with a slightly less impressive 363-foot home run at 94.5 mph off the bat. He now has three home runs and 11 RBI on the season, and while the power might not stick, the batting average should, and his spot in the middle of the order will give him solid counting stat upside. You should be feeling pretty good about yourself if you picked him up on waiver wires.
Jung Hoo Lee clubbed a three-run homer in the opening inning on Friday, powering the Giants in a 9-1 thrashing of the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
The Giants jumped all over Marcus Stroman right out of the gate as Mike Yastrzemski smacked a leadoff double and Willy Adames worked a walk. Lee then followed by crushing a 387-foot (100.5 mph EV) three-run shot to put the Giants on top to stay. Lee also singled, drew a pair of walks and scored two runs in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-3. He’s off to an outstanding start to the 2025 campaign, slashing .340/.404/.596 with one homer and seven RBI in the middle of the Giants’ lineup.
